Montana is calling. Guided Hunts and Fishing and the great Rocky Mountain Outdoors!
Archery Elk is (early September to mid October) with cool mornings and warm afternoons.
Bugling bulls, bulls fighting, bulls pushing around their cows, and satellite bulls talking to you in Big Sky country. You will experience a hunt unlike any other.
This is prime time to harvest a bull elk. They are talking and breeding cows. As with most species highest success of a mature big game animal is during the rut season. Rocky Mountain Elk hunting in September is one of the most adrenaline pumping hunts out there. You’ll get the chance to experience bulls coming in closer than you’d ever expect. We’ve had bulls within 3 yards.
This is a truely magical experience being in and around elk. This is one of those hunts you want to experience. We hunt public land and of course nothing in life is guaranteed. So all we will guarantee is hard work and sore feet.
This is a very physical and mental demanding hunt and understand that we are in the Rocky Mountain. Most of our hunts are accessible by foot being first service gates. Although, you need to plan on climbing uphill, downhill, and side hills. So your average walk around the block isn’t going to cut it. Plan on being in good shape and practice with that bow all summer long and be comfortable out to 60 yards. We recommend being able to shoot further as it helps with shooting. If you’re comfortable with 100 yards you’ll sure as heck be able to shoot good at 40 yards.
Application deadline is April first and booking with an outfitter ensures an extra preference point. We can combine this hunt with deer and fall bear hunts. Just ask us what kind of combination you’d like to do and we will make that happen!
These hunts are one of the most common hunts people book. These 600lb animals are recovering from breeding all September long. You’ll find small groups of bachelor bulls hanging out together, or some bulls with some cows. These hunts are usually combined with a peak rut deer hunt.
These hunts involve lots of glassing and sometimes it’s a good idea to be able to shoot further. These hunts are non-guaranteed, all we can guarantee is hard work and dedication.
Applications are due April first and if you book through an outfitter you gain an extra preference point. So getting those hard tags just got easier.
This hunt sometimes gets good snowfall and be prepared for 4 seasons during these fall hunts. The elk like to hang out in those south facing slopes with heavy snowfall. So sometimes you’ll see herds of 20 or more. Successful hunters of this hunt put a lot of miles on their boots to get an opportunity.
Applications for out-of-state tags is due by April 1st. However, by reaching out to us after the date, you may be able to snag one still with a preference point and our experience at finding unclaimed tags.
