I would like to thank Hawk Fratzke for the chance and absolutely amazing experience to go after my first mountain lion. Morning started with finding a fresh set of cat tracks just as the sun crested the hill.
The dogs were let loose and they were hot on the cats trail. We followed the dogs up the mountain where we found them heeled up at the bottom of the tree with a cat looking down. We get settled above the hill of the cat and happens to notice we actually treed two cats!! Before we got the chance to get the dogs tied back away from the tree one of the cats leaped out with most the dogs chasing back after it. Now it was just One cat, two dogs, and just me for as Hawk walked around the ridge minutes before to get a one of the younger dogs in training that was wandering on its own.
After 10-15 minutes of waiting the cat decided to leap as well just as Hawk reappeared around the corner. So we took back off and after few more hours of constant treeing and following we were able to get my first and absolutely beautiful female cat around 100-110 lbs.
I can't wait for my next hunt with Hawk and his amazing dogs!

I hunted with Flat Iron Outfitters 2015-2019 It is very beautiful country.
You can hunt as hard as you want or take an easy day the guides are very nice and accommodating to what you like.
As with any western hunt physical condition is a plus. I have hunted British Columbia and other western states with my boys and they ask when we're going back to Flat Iron.
They may not be blood relatives but until you leave you'll feel like you're part of their family.
Hunting with Flat Iron is truly an awesome western hunting experience and I would highly recommend.

A few friends and I went on a hunting trip with Flat Iron Outfitting a few years back. We had a hard time glassing, so hunting was tough.
Hawk and his team went above and beyond to help us all get a chance on deer.
The food was ☆☆☆☆☆!

I hunted with Hawk on a Montana mountain lion hunt and got a really nice tom.
It was a great hunt and awesome day. He has well trained dogs and was experienced. He was a very honest and hard working guide that I feel you couldn’t go wrong with.
